Commonly Used Question
What is the best way to reach Munnar?
Since the tour starts with Munnar, you should arrive at Cochin International Airport (COK) or Ernakulam Junction (ERS) railway station. From there, it is a scenic 4 to 5-hour drive through the hills.
Is the road to Munnar safe during the monsoon?
Yes, the roads are well-maintained, but the drive can be slower due to fog and mist. While the waterfalls (Cheeyappara and Valara) are at their most beautiful in the rains, we recommend travel during daylight hours for the best visibility.
What is the best time to visit Eravikulam National Park?
The park is best visited in the early morning (8:00 AM) to avoid crowds and increase your chances of spotting the Nilgiri Tahr. Note that the park usually closes for calving season from February to March.
Do I need to carry warm clothes?
Yes. Even if the plains are hot, Munnar stays cool year-round. Evening temperatures can drop to 10°C - 15°C, so a light jacket, sweater, or shawl is essential.
When are the Jewish Synagogue and Dutch Palace closed?
Jewish Synagogue: Closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Jewish holidays.
Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace): Closed on Fridays.
