Day 3
Munnar to Thekkady
The Nilgiri Tahr (Nilgiritragus hylocrius) is the star attraction of Munnar’s high-altitude grasslands and holds the prestigious title of being the State Animal of Tamil Nadu. These sturdy mountain goats are endemic to the Western Ghats and are easily identified by their short, coarse fur and curved horns. Is the road to Munnar safe during the monsoon?

Yes, the roads are well-maintained, but the drive can be slower due to fog and mist. While the waterfalls (Cheeyappara and Valara) are at their most beautiful in the rains, we recommend travel during daylight hours for the best visibility.

What is the best time to visit Eravikulam National Park?
